Two happy girls

My beautiful girl, Maggie...

...and a picture of me drawing....

EDM #139 and an old one...

This is my sketch for the "draw something with a handle" challenge. The two mugs are these funky little mugs that my very conservative grandmother gave me one Christmas with a great teapot to match. They are very colorful...I should probably add some color later....The chest in the background is a beautiful wooden chest from Pakistan.

The drawing of the boot is something I did a year ago. I just liked it so I thought I'd post it here :)

Every Day Matters #138

I just joined the EDM group and this is my first post. I would really like to get back into the habit of drawing regularly and am excited to work on the challenges every week. I am going to attempt to work in pen and ink (no erasing!) to try to improve my skills (we'll see how that goes...).

So this is my earlobe! My softest part.......

Celtic knot project

I've been working on embroidering this celtic knot border for almost a year and a half. This weekend I finished it. Wow!!!! It is amazing to step back and look at it. It is approx. 45in. on each side. I used a simple chain stich for the whole thing. This is my first project like this. The idea behind the project is a wedding quilt for my husband and I.

There are some technical problems with the piece that definitely need to be worked out before I start another large scale embroidery project. I did not use an interfacing and I think this caused puckering and some loose stiches. Despite the setbacks I think the overall effect is pretty successful. Not bad for a first try! (Can't ever start small)

I will continue posting images as I work out the middle of the piece, etc....Stay tuned....

Graphite Van

This is a pencil drawing done this weekend at a life drawing group run by the SD Society of Illustrators. The model's name is Van. Jimmy Buffet was blaring while we drew. It was a fun day.
